This is a much overdue blog post updating you all that I accepted a position as an Anatomy Instructor/Medical Illustrator at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. I set out from my door at the start of the year, trading in a snowy winter for sunshine, beaches and #islandlife, complete with #islandproblems. Chief amongst those are bugs and a shortage of computers and art supplies.
Nevertheless, the illustrator persists. Armed with nothing but a ballpoint pen from the local internet provider’s booth, a mechanical pencil I’ve had since high school with #2 lead that I found in the bottom of my backpack (which I’ve affectionate named “Sting”), some tracing paper, and Adobe Illustrator on a 13″ laptop screen, I begin to sketch.
